Alan Niebel Joins Berliner Cohen Merced Office

Alan D. Niebel has recently joined Berliner Cohen’s Merced office as an associate focusing on estate planning, probate and trust administration, asset transfers, tax liabilities, and real property issues.

“We are especially pleased to have Alan in our Merced office.  With his broad estate planning and tax experience, he will be a valuable asset to the Firm and to our clients,” said Kevin Kelley, Berliner Cohen’s Merced office senior partner.  “Alan will be working with Philip Golden, Berliner Cohen Of Counsel and well-known estate planning attorney in the Merced area.”

Mr. Niebel comes to Berliner Cohen from a San Francisco law firm where he assisted clients in a broad range of estate planning and tax-related services.  He also served as a judicial extern to The Honorable Marshall Whitley, Superior Court of California Probate Court, and as a law clerk in the tax division of the United States Attorney’s Office.  Prior to law school, he was a manager in the Provisioning Control Office of SBC (now AT&T) where he coordinated high capacity service installations and represented the company at union grievance meetings.

Mr. Neibel graduated from Golden Gate University School of Law, with an LL.M. in Taxation and J.D., and from Pennsylvania State University, with a B.S. in Environmental Resource Management.  Mr. Niebel is licensed to practice before the State Bar of California, State Bar of Pennsylvania, State Bar of New Jersey, and the United States Tax Court.
